Promote tours and events

This guide describes configuring Label to display details about tour dates and other events. Use this feature to promote tour dates and events on a dedicated page, or on the homepage.

You can Enter tour and event details manually. Alternatively, configure Label to retrieve these details from the Songkick or Bandsintown.

Note

If manual entries are present, events from external services are not displayed. Refer to Tour and events.

Enter event details manually

To add or remove tour and event details manually:

  1. Go to Customize theme.

  2. From the dropdown at the top of the page, select a page template that contains a Tour and events section. By default, this section is enabled on the home page.

  3. From the side menu, in the Tour and events section menu, select Add event (block).

  4. In the Tour and events section menu, select the Event block you added.

  5. In the Event block menu, adjust the option controls to provide the following information:

    • Day. Set the Day slider to the day of the event.

    • Month. Use the Month dropdown to set the event's month.

    • Name. In the Name text box, enter a name for the event.

    • Venue. In the Venue text box, enter a venue for the event.

    • Ticket URL. In the Ticket URL text box, enter a URL for purchasing tickets to the event. You can edit the text in Edit Languages. Alternatively, select a store page to link to.

    • Remove block. To delete the event from the section, select Remove block.

Retrieve Songkick events

To configure Label to retrieve details about tours and events from Songkick, you need the Songkick artist ID from your artist's Songkick Upcoming shows page. To find your Songkick artist ID and add it into Label:

  1. Go to Songkick, and then sign into your Songkick account.

  2. Locate the Songkick URL for your artist's upcoming shows, and then copy the Songkick artist ID from the URL.

    For example, the Songkick URL for Radiohead's upcoming shows is http://www.songkick.com/artists/253846-radiohead. Radiohead's artist ID is 253846-radiohead, located at the end of the URL.

  3. In your Shopify admin, go to Customize theme.

  4. From the dropdown at the top of the page, select a page template that contains a Tour and events section. By default, this section is enabled on the home page.

  5. From the side menu, select the Tour and events section.

  6. In the Tour and events section menu, locate the External source area.

  7. Set the Source dropdown to Songkick.

  8. In the Songkick artist ID text box, paste the Songkick artist ID you copied previously.

Retrieve Bandsintown events

To configure Label to retrieve details about tours and events from Bandsintown, you need your Bandsintown artist name. To add your Bandsintown artist name into Label:

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Customize theme.

  2. From the dropdown at the top of the page, select a page template that contains a Tour and events section. This section is enabled on the home page, by default.

  3. From the side menu, select the Tour and events section.

  4. In the Tour and events section menu, locate the External source area.

  5. Set the Source dropdown to Bandsintown.

  6. In the Bandsintown artist name text box, enter your Bandsintown artist name (e.g., Radiohead).
