Social media

This guide describes the Theme settings > Social Media menu options to integrate social media into your store.

The following video shows a store's blog post (article) page. To display icons inside the article's Share list that link to store's social media, in Theme settings > Social Media > Social sharing options, the checkbox options are enabled to Share on Facebook and Tweet on Twitter. In Theme settings > Social Media > Accounts, URLs for store's social media are entered in the Facebook and Instagram text boxes. Icons that link to the URLs are displayed in the store's navigation bar (at the top of the page).

Social sharing image

When a link to your store is posted on social media, a thumbnail of the social sharing image is displayed with the post. Refer to Shopify help: Choosing a social media image.

To set up a social sharing image:

  1. Go to Theme settings > Social Media > Social sharing image.

  2. Use the following Image menu options to set up a social sharing image.

    • To add an image, choose Select Image, and then upload an image or select an image file from your store's file library.

    • To replace an image, choose Change > Change image, and then select or upload a new image.

    • To remove an image, select Change > Remove image.

To set how your store's social media links appear in the Share list on products and articles:

  1. Go to Theme settings > Social Media > Sharing options.

  2. Select the following options.

    • Share on Facebook. Use the checkbox Share on Facebook to show/ hide Facebook in the Share list.

    • Tweet on Twitter. Use the checkbox Tweet on Twitter to show/ hide Twitter in the Share list.

    • Pin on Pinterest. Use the checkbox Pin on Pinterest to show/ hide Pinterest in the Share list.

Accounts

To set up links to your store's social media:

  1. Go to Theme settings > Social Media > Accounts.

  2. In the text boxes, enter URLs for your store's social media.

    Enter links for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Patreon, Bandcamp, Pinterest, Soundcloud, TikTok, Spotify, Flickr, Vimeo, Apple, Last FM, YouTube, Tumblr, Triple J, and Mixcloud.

Note

When you enter social media URLs, the theme displays corresponding social media links throughout your store. For example, links to the URLs you provide can be displayed in the store's header and footer.
